It was followed by a series of movies over the years, including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966), A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977), and Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (1980).

This was the first feature-length Peanuts film (at 72 minutes) and it performed quite well at the box office. The next special wouldn’t arrive for another decade; featuring Schroeder as its main focus, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown first aired on February 13, 1975.

Shortly thereafter You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown came out on October 16 of that year—and then nothing for nearly six years. On February 5 1981 ( Super Bowl Sunday), however things picked up again in a big way with the release of three new Peanuts specials: Someday You’ll Find Her Charlie Brown ,Charlie Brown’s All Stars , and It’s Magic ,Charlie Brown .

In 1985 , two more features entered theaters: The continuous story arcs of the films were beginning to come together by this point as+Snoopy Come Home built directly off of It’ notYour Fault ,Charlie Brown . 1986 saw the releaseWhat Have We Learned Charlie Brown? which marked the 50th anniversary of Charles M Schulz ‘ sfirst published cartoon . After another layoff of several years , theeighth movie in the franchise arrived : WhenSchroeder GetsMad was released in 1988 .
